Vietnam Quilts has been operating since 2001 and this would not be possible without the help of many volunteers. Thanh established the project and has put in a considerable amount of her time training the women, designing the quilts and setting up the shop.
Carla used her local knowledge and connections to promote the quilts at the beginning. Julien helped to set up the shop and construct the first website. So many people have contributed and still do.
Their diverse skills in product design, marketing, sales etc. made Vietnam-Quilts a really professional program. You can help! What you can do: 1. Visiting our shop and purchasing our products (a queen quilt is 21 days work of one woman and the profit is enough to put one child in school for a year. 2. Tell your friends about our shop. 3. Introduce us to people or handicraft distribution in your country. 4. Assist with marketing and business development. 5. Assist with the sales in the shop on a regular basis. 6. Train the women in new techniques (colour selection, quilting etc) 7. Volunteer for a 6 month period in the shop (a very small allowance can be given) We would love to hear from you. It is a joyful team in daily contact both with customers amazed by the products and with the quilters who come from the villages. |
